Our Top 5 for YTH Live 2017

As we approach the kickoff of our annual YTH Live conference, our office is alive with energy and excitement. In addition to an incredible lineup of speakers and a powerful roster of session topics we also have some fun, first-time elements that we can’t wait to launch. To give you a sneak peek, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 things we’re excited about as we move towards YTH Live 2017. Drum roll please …

1. The Networking Reception

Co-sponsored by YTH and Saviance Healthcare on Sunday, May 7, this year’s networking reception is sure to be an incubator for intriguing conversation and relationship building. It will be a gathering place for innovative minds in youth health, supporters and of course, youth themselves to meet and share ideas. We can’t wait to feel the energy in the room.

2. The Food and Beverage

We are offering an incredible assortment of hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages (for those 21 years and older) during our networking reception. As we grow our conference, we are making sure to grow the attendee experience; and this is an addition we’re sure you’ll enjoy!

3. The Digital Poster Session

Why host traditional poster sessions when you can ‘tech it up’ with digital auto-advancing posters? Each digital session (day 1 and 2) will host 4 incredible topics each day ranging from increasing access to reproductive health services among youth through to collecting HIV risk data using online database systems. You’ll have the opportunity to engage and interact with thought leaders and industry trailblazers.

4. The Funding Panel

Join us as we navigate the challenging arena of funding for youth-centered approaches and innovation. Given the current climate and uncertainty facing the nonprofit sector due to funding cuts, this could prove to be one of our most gripping sessions to date. Discuss the role(s) of funders and philanthropists alike as we work towards strategies designed to address funding gaps. Attendees will get to engage with angel philanthropists and foundations to gain helpful insights on strategic fund raising.

5. The Design Challenge

Sponsored by FHI360, YTH and with expert design coaching provided by IDEO.org, the first-ever design challenge is sure to be a conference highlight. Through design flash workshops and rapid prototyping, we’ll be asking attendees to create innovative, real life solutions that could ultimately influence the health of young people everywhere. Once complete, participants will have the chance to pitch their ideas for a chance to win up to $1,500 in prize money. They’ll even learn how to work with our experts to make their design a reality. We can’t wait to see what you create.
