Sheoran Steps Up as Executive Director

We are thrilled to announce that Bhupendra Sheoran has been promoted to the role of YTH’s new executive director.

Sheoran has been with YTH for half a decade. In the course of those five years he has pioneered projects like Oregon Reminders, YTH StreetConnect (still in beta), and HIV/AIDS information outreach with National Library of Medicine. Sheoran has taught and led everyone involved with YTH, has been a warm and supportive mentor and role model to YTH staff and interns, and is known for regaling colleagues with hilarious stories of excitement from his times at medical school in India (he can be coaxed to dish the details over lunch). His passion for young people and public health fuels his determined, positive leadership style here at YTH.

The YTH board of directors is greatly looking forward to being part of the next leg of the organization’s journey under Sheoran’s leadership. Previously as YTH’s deputy director, Sheoran worked closely with YTH’s founder, board, funders, and partners.

With a career spanning over 20 years, Sheoran worked a medical doctor in India managing multiple clinics, has an MBA in public health management, over 13 years experience working with youth and young adults, and has been published in several medical journals. Since earning his MBA, he has worked in South and Southeast Asia and in the U.S. in varying roles with nonprofit agencies, the United Nations, and in academic institutions. He has worked tirelessly to address the health needs of diverse groups and underserved populations including LGBTQ, Native Americans, and Asian and Pacific Islanders. Beyond his expertise in sexual and reproductive health, he has excelled at strategic planning, designing and implementing social marketing campaigns, research, and program design.
